RapidSOS Beacon app for iPhone and iPad

SOS Beacon helps solve the challenge that 9-1-1 often cannot precisely locate mobile 9-1-1 calls. In a participating jurisdiction, having SOS Beacon installed on your phone will assist 9-1-1 dispatchers in receiving your precise location when you call or text 9-1-1. Emergency dispatchers in participating jurisdictions can access your location securely through the Next Generation 9-1-1 Clearinghouse.

Here’s how to set it up:

- Download the app onto your device
- Open the app and grant permission to location and push notifications
- Accept the terms of service
- Verify your phone number
- Exit the app

Your location will be used to locate you when the app starts up to support our international emergency number capabilities. Otherwise, your location will ONLY be used when an emergency call is detected, in which case it will be forwarded to authorized public safety personnel when you are in a participating jurisdiction. The data from this app never replaces the information sent to 9-1-1 from your mobile provider for dispatch purposes - it is displayed as supplemental data to aid call takers in understanding the context of your call.

VoIP Emergency Contacts

Get help even when you dont have cell service. Set a friend or relative as an emergency contact and youll be able to make VoIP (Voice over IP) calls to them with the touch of a button! (Requires iOS 10.0 or later).
